Question:
What is the difference between Agency & Non-Agency repairs?
Agency Repairs: An insurance policy with 'agency repairs' guarantees that the insurance company will have your car repaired with the authorized dealer’s workshop.
Non-Agency Repairs: An insurance policy with ‘non-agency repairs’ will have your car repaired with the insurer’s approved workshop or garage.
In the event of agency repair, your car damages will be fixed at one of the car dealerships of your car’s brand. In the case of non-agency repair, it is taken care of at one of the workshops or garages approved by your insurance agency.
Although a non-agency repair facility comes with a lower car insurance premium and is serviced faster, some prefer the agency repair option as it covers repairs with guarantees of original spare parts being official dealers/importers of the car’s brand.
