According to law, all residents and their dependents in the UAE, are required to have health insurance.

Employers or sponsors who fail to renew or provide the minimum mandated insurance may face:

• Monthly penalties ranging from AED 300 to AED 150,000 (for group policies), with repeat offenses within a year potentially doubling the fine, up to a maximum of AED 500,000. Additionally, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) can issue warnings, suspend insurance-related activities, or even revoke licenses.

Timely renewal is not only critical for continuous coverage but also a legal requirement.
