In 2025, mandatory health insurance for private sector employees and domestic workers will expand nationwide across all seven UAE emirates.

Our Managing Director, Mr. Mustafa Oliyath Vazayil, highlights that this will reshape the insurance sector, with employers in northern emirates required to offer coverage. The expansion will make health insurance the largest segment for most insurers and brokers. Initially a basic requirement, health insurance in Abu Dhabi and Dubai has evolved to provide robust coverage.

The move is expected to stabilize the labour market, as employees are more likely to stay in jobs with added benefits. The healthcare sector will also benefit from increased demand.
